Baglung: Two children tragically lost their lives and one person was injured as a result of two separate incidents in Baglung.

The first incident occurred in Pakhapani of Dhorpatan Municipality-5 at around 9:00 pm on Saturday night. Lightning struck the house of Chitra Bahadur BK, claiming the lives of his six-year-old son, Dinesh, and nine-year-old daughter, Sunita. Chitra Bahadur's wife, Yam Kumari BK, was also injured during the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. Additionally, a buffalo housed nearby was killed by the lightning strike.

In another unfortunate incident, a road accident took place at Dhamja in Kathekhola Rural Municipality-3 on the same Saturday night. An 18-year-old named Bijay BK from Dhamja lost his life when a jeep (Dha. 1 Ja. 7190) met with an accident while traveling from Baglung Bazaar to Dhamja.

BK tragically passed away at the scene of the accident. Two other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to Baglung headquarters for medical treatment. The jeep reportedly veered off the road and fell approximately 50 meters.

These incidents have brought sorrow and grief to the community of Baglung. The authorities are working to provide necessary support to the affected families and investigate the circumstances surrounding both incidents.
